Wind Power

The towers we talked about... Don't forget to comment.

  1. I thought that the giant wind turbines made for generating mass productions of electricity were very cool. The sheer size of them was amazing. I did not realize how many variables you had to take into account when manufacturing and installing the wind turbines. Such as location and size. I think we should start to rely more on wind power in Michigan.

  3. I am amazed at the architectural structure and design of this building plus the added fact they are using renewable energy. They said that they will generate about 7 million dollars in surplus electricity each year. I think the moving floors are cool too, but think of if they didn't use the wind energy to power the moving building, then they would have even more surplus energy which is an amazing feat.

  4. it is incredable the amount of electricity these giant wind turbine generate. i thinkwe should make more of them in open feilds and places were it wouldnt interfear with peoples "view". this would also create alot more jobs to for our stuggling economy

  5. not all wind powered generators need to spin

  6. I think this because it would be interesting on how it would affect the people working here. It's cool how this bulid can produce a lot of electric and it would be a new way to use energy and area in one location.

  7. i say we should ignore the crybabys and build wayyyy more big turbines so we can save our country a lot of money and we will not be in debt.

  8. That could work out really well. The power that produces, one tower has the energy to power ten towers. It is really cool how the floors move also. This could be very interesting.

  9. The size of the wind turbines were cool. I like how it can produce so much electricity and it would open up jobs for a lot of people, so it would help out our economy as well.

  10. That building is really cool. I wish we had one in the U.S that i could visit. I find it fascinating that the whole building moves. Also it produces a massive amount of electricity. I wonder, though, if the moving part will mess with people's minds who are working inside the building. Also America should have some of these to create lots of jobs.

  11. I think it would be crazy if they made an actual building like this. Not like crazy nuts, but really cool. It would produce electricity, but couldn't there be problems during tornadoes and stuff. And what happens if they have to repair something, how would they do that without messing up the whole building. And would the entrance rotate like around the street?

  12. This idea seems crazy to me that we actually have the technology to be able to do something like this. I think that it would be amazing if we could have a building that could generate its own power. It seems like an expensive way to do it, but in the long run, it would actually pay itself off. This would save lots of natural resources though. Its a good idea, but i feel like there would be a lot of problems and it could get too confusing. I don't really think that anyone would want to work in a rotating building. you would get soooo dizzy.

  13. i think its really cool that we can use wind to make energy. it seems like a way that would pay for itself in the end and save lots of money. i think we should put more wind turbines out in lake michigan!!! im sure the birds will be okay

  14. The fact that they can produce a turbine that can produce 0.3 megawatts of electricity and is said to be able to produce enough energy for 50 families, it pretty amazing. I think this is a good idea and they should continue to look at different types of these structures

  15. I think this is amazing because you aren't only powering that building, but also buildings around it. If we made all of our new buildings like this then we could provide a lot of electricity for people.

  16. This concept is a good idea and would fit in nicely with Dubai's exotic buildings. I don't entirely support this, because the structural integrity is compromised to accommodate such a design. I also feel it would be a very difficult process to repair any malfunctioning or broken components having to do with the generator. The projected power output is hard to believe because although they may have calculated it and put many factors into account, you can't be sure until its done.

  17. It's one of the best alternatives to fossil fuels and nuclear power for the nation, there are few REAL downsides to wind energy other than the decrease in aesthetic pleasure.

  18. i think that this idea of generating not only the building itself, but also the buildings around it using wind energy is very creative & efficient. its a very good alternative to fossil fuels. i would like to visit it someday (:

  19. I think these towers are incredible & would deffinetely be a good idea to make more of them, & put them into use in areas with alot of wind. These would be good for our economy because they could create more needed jobs.
More of these buildings need to be made

  20. why don't they just go ahead and put the wind turbines in eastern Michigan. they truely won't hurt production and they would look pretty cool. Those pompus low lives have no idea what they're talking about and they should shut there mouths and leave the work to the professionals.

  21. i think this building is a good idea along with all the wind turbine prototypes we talked about like the windball. If people are so against how turbines look these ideas could persuade them to use wind power

  22. makes sence i dont know why they wouldnt make it, saves money and gives us more energy duhh

  23. A building that generates electricity is a great solution for large city's. It could help with the rolling black outs in large city's by supplying more power to the grid.

  24. its seat that someone even made this design i mean how would you even think about makeing this and it look to make a good amount of eletricty.

  25. I like how the turbines look like buildings and that you can use the wind to power them.
I think its a good thing to make it in a city so that you can power other things too.

    ReplyDelete
  26. its a really good idea, i dont understand why they wouldn't make it.. it produces alot of energy and its fairly cheap. it looks pretty cool too.

  27. the fact that it moves on its own is really cool. i would love to go look at something like that!

  28. Wow! thats a ton of money being generated per year. seems like a fun place to hang out in/on

  29. these look a lot better than a coal power plant and they produce clean energy and a lot of it. so i say put them every were

  30. i think it's pretty cool but i have my doubts it will ever be built. i've heard about this building for the past couple years and i just have my doubts it will work, i think its a good idea to inspire other architecture though.

  31. I personally think these ideas are all great in the terms of people thinking differently. Its thoughts like these that are going to shape the future. But- these current designs on this site are very flawed, and are pretty much pointless. But its still important that people are thinking this way.

  32. i think this is a stupid idea and would cost way to much to build and would not pay its self off

  33. Sticky,
i think that these towers are crazy sweet, and they would be a cool thing to visit. BUT it would overall be a dumb idea, because this would give iraqis something to attack and hurt america and it would cost way to much.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think these towers are too expensive, it would take way too long to pay itself off.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think its really cool but i question if it can truly be done. I think it could really help the future progress from the fossil fuels.

    ReplyDelete
  36. this type of idea should be investigated further, because a building that produces energy like that, would be BRILLIANT

    ReplyDelete
  37. Samantha Brandon-
I think its really cool to use it as an energy source. Its fun to be in one and look out the window, because you will be looking at something different each time.

    ReplyDelete
  38. i think it i is a good way to get energy it efficient and it will attract a lot of builders to make more efficient homes and buildings

  39. since michigan is suffering from such a bad economic state we should put more wind mills and wind farms in michigan. The great lakes are a huge plus as well

  40. nice to see that we are thing out of the box but it is going to be the 2nd biggest failure in man kinds history. the 1st of course was OBAMA but the skyscraper is going to cost to much to build and keep up it will never pay itself off

  41. Richie Dombrowski,

I think the wind turbines would be a very useful thing in our energy sources because we have a lot of ocean right by us so the USA could put turbines right off the coast
