Notes

Here is the power point from today. Remember we did not do the first part of these notes.

  1. It's unfortunate that we lead the world in the production of wind turbines, and yet we are still 3rd, behind Germany and Spain, in the actually using of it. I think they should continue to use the production of tax credit on wind turbines because that was when the most were sold. I liked the different types of vert wind turbines and how many styles there were of it, some of them were kind of crazy looking.

  2. The Beaufort scale is pretty interesting how the scale is made and how much we think able using wind energy. I think its cool that we make the most wind turbines in the world but disappointing that we don't use the most.

  3. I had no idea that people actually used wind turbines like they do today. More people use them than i thought. Its crazy that were third in the world behind Germany and Texas. I also didn't know that California and Texas had the most wind turbines. It makes sense though since they are two of the biggest states. I also learned that there are two kinds of wind turbines, VAWT and HAWT. They both have their pros and cons, which makes them both good.

  4. Its crazy that we make the most wind turbines yet we dont use the most, doesnt make much sense there. We need to step up & starting useing more of what we ake because it will help us out alot.
& also the new designs were pretty intense looking but if they work then I think we should use them.

  5. modern wind turbines are pretty dope. they have low frequency noice and they are about 59% efficient. not bad for an American design. one thing i must ask, do they have car wind turbines because if so, gas stations are going to be out of the job.

  6. lotta info on that power point idk what were supposed to write about so ill just say that i think theres a lot of cool VAWT designs

  7. The Beaufort Scale is very interesting. It is very disapointing that we lead the world in wind tech. and have the 3rd most wind power production in the world, stupid politicians.

  8. wind power is a great source of energy but its crazy that we make all the turbines and yet its not our best form of energy

  9. i think it's interesting that we make the most turbines but we aren't the leading country. i understand that we don't have as much wind in some places, but still if we make the most it makes sense that we'd just put a bunch up. i say we should overlook the people who have a negative outlook on wind power, and build more turbines. at least we'd be doing some good for the economy.

  10. there were alot of notes, and to be honest im not really sure where im supposed to go with this... but i guess its kinda interesting...

  11. our govt really needs to step up in getting the US up there with germany. i mean COME ON, we're the ones with the technology!

  12. i want to know why we dont use more of these wind turbines if we make the most in the world. wind energy is growing a lot more than i thought and is used way more than i thought. wind energy is a good source of energy and we should use it more

  13. the actual use of these wind turbines is incredible, it's crappy that we're 3rd in the word it seems like we could utilize these tools a lot more than we currently do. It seems that California and Texas are taking initiative

  14. we should be able to put wind turbines in the great lakes and oceans and we would harness tons of energy

  15. It's weird how they used the Beaufort scale to determine what the wind could do when going that speed. the actual use of those wind turbines is cool and they should put some in by the Great Lakes.

  16. The reasons for not putting wind turbines in the Great Lakes are dumb, we should be able to put them in there. The Beaufort Scale is also interesting.

  17. I think its stupid that the U.S. is the country with all the technology and we aren't the ones using all of it.

  18. I think the reasons for not having wind turbines in the great lakes are stupid and have no evidence. If we want to stop depending on fossil fuels we have to stop denying the change that comes with it.

  19. Samantha Brandon-
I love how people care about killing the birds, when setting up a wind turbine. Its very unlikely for this to happen.

  20. Reasons for not having a wind farm far out in the great lakes are ridiculous. its a fact that birds die even more from windows each year. i dont get why they wouldnt want this efficient energy source when it only helps. -MARISSA

  21. the people on the great lakes are just selfish. this could help so many coastal city's

  22. i think we need to relize that if we produce the technology we should probably take advantage of it
