Ouch the power of the sun.

Guess they shouldn't need to heat the pool. Please comment...

  1. this is a preaty stupid design for a hotel, i wouldnt wanna stay at that hotel because iterveiwer were saying they were cooking and the back of there legs were burning. just goes to show the power of concave objects/designs

  2. I think that it was irresponsible for the people who built the hotel to not consider the possible negative outcomes from this shape of a building. I would not go there if I was looking for a place to hang out by the pool.

  3. wow that would suck for the hotel designer. That's not really a design flaw you can fix without redoing the whole building, so they're kinda screwed.

  4. i guess that sucks cause it was a legit looking design and i dont know how you plan for that, but its his fault and he shouldve known.

  5. I can't believe they didn't think of what that type of reflective structure would cause. I mean the architects who designed it must not have ever taken a physics class or looked at a magnifying glass.

  6. they were dumb in even designing it to have a concave shape

  7. it should have been seen as a bad idea even when they were designing it and it seems like the only thing they can do is rebuild it

  8. They should tint the windows of the building and maybe that could decrease the amount of death ray reflecting off the windows.

  9. I think it is funny how they built a death ray without even knowing it, but they should change the design so they don't hurt their business.

  10. That's a pretty stupid design for the hotel, they should've known better. Now they'll have to redo the whole thing.

  11. The designers of this building are pretty stupid. They knew this might happen and their solution of covering the windows with plastic didn't work. I don't know anyone who would want to be burned... so they will lose a lot of business from this. alex smith

  12. I would want to stay there because i could get really tan. That would be sweet. But the design itself wasn't a very good idea. The concave shape is causing most of the problems, with the light reflecting off of it. Maybe they should re-build it flat to try and fix the problem.

  13. Personaly I wouldn't stay there becasue whoever designed this is pretty stupid and now that flaw ruined the fate of the building.

  14. I think this is actually pretty funny. strange things like this are the result of poor planning on someone's part. This could have been avoided by building the resort in a different direction. It looks like they will have to deal with this amusingly incompetent mistake.

  15. this was a bad design idea & it deffinetely sucks for the hotel owner because this is gonna suck to fix

  16. These people are legit retards...the hotel looks nice but if it is burning stuff and setting things ablaze then i want to have no part in that crap. move it to a different location or get ride of it and build another hotel some where else

  17. building a concave building is stupid. they should have known the sun would reflect of the building to a single point.

  18. If only the hotels design engineers took a highschool physics and remembered what they learned. Man some people get paid a lot to be so stupid. Duh.

  19. Its a great looking design but they need to fine a way to make if so that theres no glare and i think people would love to stay there

  20. If feel sorry for the guy who built the building because its not a easy fix. Also its a stupid design because its basic science of a concave reflection.

  21. The design was ridiculous. i feel worse for the people who got bad sunburns than the idiot who didn't think about that before spending the money to build the hotel.

  22. Thats a sweet lookin design, and i guess i like swimming.. so... i'd be pretty mad if i got that burned because someone didnt think up their design too well.

  23. Thats sure gunna be an expensive fix, i wonder who's pocket its comming out of? cause i know they definitely wont make enough money from profit.

  24. they need some shades to put up when the death rays are particularly bad.

  25. This is quite interesting. Although this idea may not be the most effective, it is good to know that people are starting to think in very space conservative ways. Although this has many cons, still good thinking.

  26. Their design was irresponsible because now they've got lawsuits, and there not goona be able to really reverse the effect without completely redoing it.

  27. this cracks me up because people are not thinking before they build things

    ReplyDelete
  28. What were the architects thinking in building that kind of concave design with the building? They should learn from this experience. I mean, within 30 seconds the back of a guys legs were burning; that's ridiculous.

  29. Thats really stupid of the designers to made a building like that, especially in Las Vegas. i would be pretty mad if i was by the pool and i got burned that fast!

  30. The hotel should have thought about the design more before building it because they wasted a ton of money and time because of this bad design

  31. so how about capturing that energy

  32. stupid overall design for this hotel, or any hotel. & very irresponsible -MARISSA

  33. Samantha Brandon-
I think its dumb that they would make the whole hotel out of reflecting material and if thats not dumb enough they made it concave to collect the suns energy i definitely would not want to be a guest at this hotel and burn.

    ReplyDelete
  34. i think they should close down the hotel because of the risk factor of it. they should also have had the hotel designer research on the placement and direction of the hotel

    ReplyDelete
  35. Didn't they realize that this would happen if they were to build such an odd shaped building? I just don't think it takes that many brains. . .

    ReplyDelete
  36. well that is a giant waste of money all that is going to do is drive business away

    ReplyDelete
  37. Richie Dombrowski,

I think is just funny how they didnt think the building would burn anyone from the reflection of the sun on it but yeah they really need to fix that
